Hi, I'm Shayan, founder of Fluency Fountain.
Before I became an English teacher, I was an English learner just like you.
I know what it feels like to struggle with speaking, feel nervous when using English, and wonder if you'll ever become fluent. That's exactly why Fluency Fountain exists.
My mission is simple:
To help learners speak English confidently through enjoyable, practical, and personalized coaching.
Because learning English shouldn't feel frustrating, overwhelming, or boring. It should feel exciting, rewarding, and empowering.
The Journey That Started It All
I grew up in a family where nobody spoke English.
Not a single person.
My fascination with the language began when I watched my first English movie. I didn't understand much, but I remember feeling amazed. I started imagining what it would be like to have conversations in English, connect with people from around the world, and explore opportunities beyond my own environment.
At first, I learned small things from television programs and whatever resources I could find. I was still a child, and even understanding the English alphabet felt difficult. I remember learning how to count in English while spending time at the gym.
My family wasn't in the best financial situation, so attending English classes wasn't something we could easily afford.
Then one day, while I was at school, I saw some of my classmates carrying English books and studying them. I remember feeling disappointed and left behind. When I got home, I finally found the courage to ask my father if I could join an English institute.
Even though money was tight, he said yes.
That decision changed my life.
I still remember walking into my first English class. It was one of the most exciting days I had ever experienced.
I gave everything I had.
I completed every assignment.
I reviewed lessons over and over again.
Sometimes I studied the same page ten times just to make sure I understood it completely.
We didn't even have a DVD player at home, so I would visit relatives just to listen to the lesson recordings. There were times when I spent more than thirty minutes trying to understand the meaning of a single lesson.
I memorized stories.
I practiced endlessly.
I worked harder than anyone because I wanted to make sure my father's sacrifice was worth it.
Every time I saw my parents smile because of my progress, it felt like the greatest reward in the world.
But after years of studying, I discovered something surprising.
Despite all the classes, homework, tests, and memorization...
I still couldn't speak English confidently.
And that's when everything changed.
Why I Created Fluency Fountain
I realized that traditional language learning often focuses too much on memorization and not enough on communication.
Many students spend years learning grammar rules and vocabulary lists but still freeze when it's time to have a real conversation.
I didn't want to spend years feeling stuck.
So I started experimenting.
I read books.
I listened to podcasts.
I watched movies.
I practiced every day.
I studied how people actually become fluent.
Little by little, I discovered methods that helped me develop not only my English skills, but also my confidence.
Eventually, I achieved a near-native level of English and pronunciation.
More importantly, I learned something many students never get taught:
Fluency comes from using English, not just studying English.
When I began teaching, I realized how many learners were facing the exact same struggles I once had.
Fear of speaking.

The feeling of being stuck despite years of effort.
